This video was old but it still had key points throughout it. By going through the different phases of mediums from the past we get a better understanding of media as one. We never really think about the past when, as the video says, people had to use oral speech and talk as loudly as they could to get their message out. Or how monks and others who could write, had to write manuscripts and try to make exact duplicates of them, which is nearly impossible.  We can now realize how much more important the printing press invention was. We have been privileged enough to have everything already set up for us instead of having to work/wait for it. I also learned that many of the first newspapers printed were more for commercial means like business information instead of real news. In addition to news now being printed instead of broad-casted by speech and manuscript the thought of turning the printed news into a product set the tone for change within media too.
